My Journey as an LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent, Chronically Ill and Partial Quadriplegic Wedding Storyteller

People often ask me why I chose to become a professional wedding storyteller, especially given my personal circumstances as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a neurodivergent individual, chronically ill, and a partial quadriplegic wheelchair user. The answer is simple: it's my passion, my calling, and my way of contributing to the world.

My journey began when I was diagnosed with a chronic illness and became partially quadriplegic. As my mobility decreased, I found solace in the art of storytelling. I started with writing, which eventually evolved into capturing stories through photography and videography. It was then I realized that there's something incredibly powerful about telling people's love stories, particularly on their wedding day.

Identifying as an LGBTQIA+ person, I understand the importance of representation and inclusivity. I found that the wedding industry often lacked this aspect. I saw a gap, an opportunity to cater to my community, and decided to dive into the realm of wedding storytelling. It's more than just a job to me; it's a mission to ensure that everyone, regardless of their sexuality or gender orientation, has their stories told with respect, dignity, and authenticity.

Being neurodivergent has also shaped my perspective and approach. I see the world differently, and this unique viewpoint allows me to capture stories in a distinct and creative manner. It's a strength, not a limitation, allowing me to connect with couples on a deeper level and craft a narrative that truly represents them.

My chronic illness and quadriplegia have also played a significant role. They have taught me resilience, patience, and the ability to find beauty in adversity. My wheelchair doesn't limit me; rather, it gives me a unique vantage point to capture moments that might otherwise be missed.

In essence, my journey as a wedding storyteller has been about breaking barriers and challenging norms. I cater to my fellow communities because I believe in the power of representation, and I understand the importance of creating a safe, inclusive space. I chose this profession because I believe in love, in all its forms, and the power it has to unite us. Every wedding I capture is a testament to this belief and a step towards a more inclusive and diverse world.
