Get to Know Me: A Journey Beyond the Lens

October 14th, 2025

Hello and welcome to my world behind and beyond the camera! My life outside of photography is as vibrant and varied as the pictures I take. I passionately volunteer as an advocate for the neurodiverse and chronic pain and LBGTQIA+ communities, participating in runs and fundraisers for non-profits and support groups. In a more quaint corner of my life, I find solace in restoring old typewriters. This unique hobby has led me to engage children and nursing home residents in the enduring power of words, prompting them to narrate their stories. It's a beautiful process, keeping memories alive and helping people thrive through trauma. In my downtime, you'll find me absorbed in books (Jenny Lawson is a current favorite), writing, or enjoying some Netflix.

On a more personal note, my wife, my dog, and I share a love for travel. We've journeyed across the country, both for work and pleasure, and have also set foot in several international locations. Despite these exciting travels, there's no place like home. We live in Lititz, Pennsylvania, in Lancaster County, a town voted as one of the coolest spots to live! It's a haven of authenticity, thriving small businesses, and a serene respite in these chaotic times.

Speaking of home, let me take you back to where my journey with photography began. As a 4-year-old, I found solace in capturing the world around me through a lens. Struggling with communication and finding my feet in the world, photography became my voice. It was a way to express what I was thinking or feeling and keep memories of people I loved. The first event I photographed was my sister's baptism when I was nine, paid with penny candy. Over the years, photography has grown from being my personal retreat to a therapeutic tool, even a lifesaver for some I've taught.

Even today, I sometimes find it challenging to articulate everything that's going on in my mind. Photography becomes my medium of expression, professionally and personally. It has been a journey of giving myself and others a voice. I travel for weddings to destinations like Sweden, England, Hawaii, and across the United States. But I feel a special warmth in shooting within Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Allentown, King of Prussia, Lebanon, York, Lancaster, and Lititz and the surrounding states. Despite my roots in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and having lived in New York, Maryland, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Colorado, Lititz is where I feel most at home.

I hope this gives you a glimpse into the person behind the camera. I look forward to capturing your special moments and turning them into everlasting memories. Thanks for stopping by!
